Biography

Deepak ji is known for his deep artistic sensitivity, subtlety in abhinaya and a mesmerizing stage presence. His scholarly approach lends an in-depth understanding of characters and a unique perspective to their expression.

As a teacher - Nattuvanar

As a true "guru" who firmly believes in the "guru-shishya parampara" Deepak very actively encourages his students to perform on the stage and excel at their art. Till date Deepak has trained and presented more than 25 young people in "Arangetram".

As a choreographer

Over the years Deepak has blossomed as a choreographer of high caliber. In keeping with the contemporary trend Deepak choreographs traditionally pure Bharata Natyam items and also ventures in the field of innovations.

As a performer

Says Deepak "Without the rhythm of our heart beats we would all be dead. Without rhythm art itself would be dead" . These words appear to be the guiding force of Deepak's artistic existence. Deepak shows tremendous command over "taala" and has won critical acclaim for rendering "nritta" (pure non expressive dance).
